Our link robot
We promise that a link is dofollow and live. So we'd better check it — automatically, every night.
What it does
The robot visits the sponsor and partner pages in our catalog and reads two things: whether the link to our customer exists in the rendered page, and whether it carries rel="nofollow" or rel="sponsored". The result updates the product's status in the shop.
That's why we can write “dofollow verified” on some placements — and “nofollow, no link value” on others, even when they look good.
How it behaves
- It identifies itself as
ChampaignRelBot/1.0 (+https://champaign.io/bot.html). - It reads and respects
robots.txt. If a page is blocked, we skip it. - It fetches at most one page at a time, with a pause in between — it won't strain your server.
- It only reads publicly available pages. It doesn't log in, doesn't fill in forms and collects no personal data.
- It only stores: the URL, whether the link exists, and which rel attribute it has.
robots.txt, and we'll stay away:User-agent: ChampaignRelBotDisallow: /Or write to [email protected], and we'll remove your domain from the catalog.
For clubs and associations
If you're in charge of sponsors and wondering about the visit: we resell sponsorships to companies that want to support you. The robot only checks that the sponsors we've placed actually appear correctly on your site — so you don't end up with an unhappy sponsor, and we don't sell something that doesn't work.
